Sri Lankan Tableware Exporter Eyes on Coimbatore
Tableware exporter Dankotuwa Porcelain is keen to get into the booming Indian market “in a big way” and plans to open more franchise showrooms in India.“Our showroom in New Delhi is doing very well and we’ll open a franchise showroom in Coimbatore very soon. We want to open one in Bombay as well.” said its President.
The company was also putting the final touches to a new range of tableware for hotels. “Our product is suited for hotels as it has a very hard, scratch resistance glaze,” Wijesinha said. Sky-high domestic inflation rates and an over-valued rupee were also making it difficult for the firm to compete in international tableware export markets.
