The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI - Western Region) is organising one-day workshop on ‘Medical Textiles 2007’ here in the city at Textile Committee Auditorium, Prabhadevi on 24th May, 2007.The multi-functional institute SASMIRA will be associated as knowledge partner in this workshop and will be preparing the concept paper.FICCI-WRC is organising this workshop to explore the enormous potential of medical textile and also aims to provide a unique platform to comprehensively address the concerns and bring together the technological experts, policy makers, regulatory officials, industry leaders among others.
The part of technical textiles, medical and hygiene textiles are widely used in health and hygiene applications in both consumer and medical markets. Surgeon wear, wound dressings, bandages, artificial ligaments, sutures, nappies and sanitary towels are some of the known examples. There are other products too.
