Change has become the order of the day. Education today has to keep itself ready for such a change. This puts a whole lot of responsibility on the shoulder of a teacher and the institutes imparting education, T. Padmanaban, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Teachers’ Education University, Chennai, said here on Saturday.

Delivering the graduation address at the Dr. N.G.P. All these need excellence in academic and professional preparation of teachers,” Mr. Padmanaban said.

Higher education may act as a fertile ground for experimenting new ideas and techniques and inculcating values. Investment in higher education was an investment for future. It could no longer be viewed merely as a welfare activity. It had the power to make India free from poverty, unemployment and fit to co-exist with G8 nations.Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman, Kovai Medical Center Research and Educational Trust, Thavamani D. Palaniswami, Managing Trustee, and Jayalakshmi Karuppannasamy, Principal of the college, felicitated.

The chief guest distributed B. Ed. degree certificates to nearly 100 candidates.
