Question-making contest for school teachers !!


Educational Initiatives (EI), Ahmedabad, is organising an all-India question-making competition for school teachers. This is to recognise and reward the best in the teaching profession. EI is an effort by a group of alumni from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Teachers will have to send in at least three to six questions in one or more subjects like English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. A panel will assess the questions and prizes will be given to the best questions.

The competition, being held for the third year, is to prove the importance of good questions in making learning interesting. It is open to teachers of English medium schools. Questions can be made from standard III to standard IX subjects. It should be multiple-choice questions.

Registrations have begun from July 1 and will close on July 31. The competition will begin on August 4 and the question entries can be sent till September 4.More than 50 teachers from schools in Coimbatore have already registered for the competition. They are from Vasavi Vidyalaya Matriculation School, VC Shishu Vidhyodaya Matriculation School, PSG CBSE School, National Model Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Chinmaya International Residential School, GKD Matriculation Higher Secondary School and GD Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

Registrations can be done online through the website www.ei-india.com or can be e-mailed to asset-qmc@ei-india.com. Five teachers will be selected in each subject to be sent to Singapore on an educational tour.
