Guideline value revision

The Registration Department will check for anomalies in guideline values and revise the values in two select areas in the district, according to an official of the department.

The official said that the guideline values were usually fixed for a site based on classification of the land and location. Some of the classifications were residential, commercial or industrial. A site located in the municipal or corporation area might be used for agricultural purpose. If it was surrounded by houses, it would attract the residential guideline value.Under the Section 47 AA of the Act, such anomalies would be rectified.

As a trial project, a locality in Thondamuthur and another in Joint II in the city were identified.Such anomalies would be identified in these two places and the guideline values would be revised accordingly. Every site would be verified in these two places.

The exercise was already on and it would be completed in six months, the official said.
