Aviation Safety Week concluded
The Aviation Safety Week, which was inaugurated by the Airport Director, K. Hemalatha, at the Coimbatore Airport on December 10, concluded on Friday.According to the directive from the corporate headquarters of the Airports Authority of India, aviation safety was being conducted across all the airports in the country to create awareness among the airport employees and stakeholders i.e., airliners and passengers.Ms. Hemalatha, in her inaugural address, stressed the importance and concerns relating to aviation safety and said that the need of the hour was to create awareness among the service providers and the users.Barua, chief pilot of Lakshmi Machine Works, gave a lecture on flight safety awareness.The week-long programme included lectures on safety of operational area, safety in handling the flight and the vehicle movements in the operational area, safety and standards of navigational aid, security equipment, handling of cargo, engineering perspective on safety in operational area, security and safety in aviation, and fire protection techniques.slogan contest was also conducted on safety and security in both Hindi and English.
