Miscreants made an attempt to break into the record room of the Essential Commodities Court on Thursday night.An attempt to burgle the record room of the Essential Commodities (EC) court in the District Sessions Court complex was reported on Friday morning.The record room was used for safe custody of the case properties and it used to have even the narcotic substances seized/recovered by the police in various cases.The custody properties in cases used to be preserved till disposal of the case and then the agencies used to be directed for destroying the narcotic substances.On Friday morning, the court staff found screws from the padlock of the door and screws in the fixture connecting the door frame and door tampered with.City police finger print and forensic experts were pressed into service.The court staff and the police said that there “was no theft and nothing had gone missing.” Race Course police are investigating.Dec 15, 2007
