Good news for single arrear holder at BU
Undergraduates and postgraduates of Bharathiar University, who have failed in a single subject, will get an opportunity to clear it at the earliest.“Those who have received their results in 2007 are eligible to take the special supplementary examination to be held on August 20. The results will be published on August 25. This is the first time that the university is offering such an examination. This decision has been taken after considering several requests from candidates who have cleared all papers, save one. Most of them have also received appointment letters to join firms. Six months is a long time for any company to wait for the candidate to join,” told G. Thiruvasagam, Vice-Chancellor of the university, at a press conference here on Tuesday.
Applications for the supplementary examination would be sent to colleges. Candidates have to apply through their respective colleges by August 10. The examination fee would be three times that of the original fee.Since this was the first attempt, the examination would be held in August. From next year, the supplementary examination would be made a regular feature and held within a month’s time from the date of announcement of results, the Vice-Chancellor said.“The future of candidates should not get spoilt because of failure in one subject. They should be able to move on. If a second chance will help them, they should be given one. Very soon, improvement examinations will also be introduced,” he added. Also, for the first time, undergraduates would be given a chance to see their answer paper on payment of Rs. 260.
