Sunshade collapsed
The sunshade of a building under construction at GM Nagar in Coimbatore that collapsed on Tuesday.A site supervisor was killed and two workers were injured when the sunshade of a building under construction collapsed at GM Nagar in Ukkadam on Tuesday.According to the police, Chandran alias Ramachandran (55), of Vinayakar Koil Street in Kalveerampalayam near Vadavalli, was killed on the spot when the recently-constructed sunshade collapsed.Thulasi (30), of Mailkal near Madukkarai, and A. Karuppasamy (45), of Podanur Chettippalayam, were injured on their legs. They were admitted to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.The police suspect that the quality of construction was poor. The house belongs to Abdul Khader (45), who is working abroad.The Ukkadam police have registered a case.
