Maruti will open a world class driving school in Coimbatore
Coimbatore, March 12: As part of its goal to provide the best motor driving training in the country, Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) will open a world class driving school in Coimbatore on March 14.
Being the first such school in Tamil Nadu and 15th in the country, its purpose was not only to impart better driving skills but also better awareness towards overall road safety, Ashokan Muthusamy, Managing Director, Ambal Auto, the main Maruti dealer in the Coimbatore city, told today.
The school has installed a Rs 18 lakh stimulator, to give one hour training to the freshers.Road safety and traffic management being the focus areas in Maruti's agenda for corporate social responsibility, the 21-day training programme would cover driving skills, traffic education, emergency handling techniques, tips on fuel efficiency, basic maintenance of the vehicle and attitudinal training, Ashokan said.
The school has advanced training methods, well trained instructors, including two women, and modelled on international training centres with curriculum of classroom training, practical and road behaviour, he said. The company would soon start such schools in Chennai, Ashokan added.
