Panic gripped residents of a particular area in the city, when stones were reportedly thrown on the rooftops of their houses early Sunday morning. Police said some residents of Damu Nagar in Ramanathapuram informed the police station that they rushed out of their houses on hearing the sound of stones falling on their houses and shops between 1 am and 2 am. Though some stones were found on the rooftops, there were no persons in the vicinity, who might have hurled them, the sources said. Police said they are investigating the matter.
