Oriental Bank of Commerce opend CCPC
Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), for the first time initiated a centralised credit processing cell (CCPC), for a cluster of branches, reports Business Line. OBC`c, general manager (corporate credit), J.P. Dua, said that, the bank,in order to facilitate, faster processing of credit proposals, started four such CCPC, at the regional level. `But this is the first time we have opened one for a cluster of 6 branches covering Coimbatore, Tirupur, Karur and Erode in this region. We would wait and watch the progress for replicating this in other parts of the country.`
On the launch day, the bank disbursed loans to the tune of Rs 700 million to 32 beneficiaries.
OBC, plans to have 10 more CCPCs, before the close of the next fiscal. `We have established this one in the South. We will look at setting up such specialised cells in the northern and western parts of the country,` Dua said. The bank, having dedicated offices for 16 SSI branches and one mid-corporate branch (opened in Chennai recently), is currently looking at SMEs. `The SME segment would be our focused area for growth,` J.P. Dua said.
