4 new skill-oriented courses in TNAU
TNAU to offer new courses in ODL modeCoimbatore:The Directorate of Open and Distance Learning of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will offer four new skill-oriented courses from the academic year 2007.The certificate courses will be in gardening and landscaping, medicinal plants, bakery and confectionary technology and modern irrigation methodology.The gardening and landscaping course will deal with the types of plants suitable for home gardens, industries and public places. The course on medicinal plants deals with their cultivation, uses and related export industries. The confectionary course will include baking of cakes, bread, biscuits and chocolates, for home use as well as for small-scale industry people. The course on modern irrigation will deal with the application and use of drip irrigation and water management.Unemployed youth, entrepreneurs, self-help groups, housewives and those interested in starting agricultural and allied enterprise businesses can avail themselves of this opportunity, according to a release.
