Runners-up in the `IBM Great Mind Challenge'
Team from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham here has emerged runners-up in the `IBM Great Mind Challenge', the national-level software development programme of the IBM, held recently on the university premises.Information Technology
The team, comprising Paras Kumar, Harikrishna Menon, Pranay Mahulikar and Jenendra Jain, all third year students of B. Tech Information Technology from Amrita School of Engineering, was among 7,000 teams that participated in the contest.The contest involved Web Application Development on J2EE platform using cutting-edge IBM technology. The award carried a citation, I-pods for all members and also a high-end IBM workstation for Amrita School of Engineering.
Best Project Prize
The students received the award from the Head of University Relations of IBM Asia Pacific Martha Robertson. Earlier, the students from the computer science department had won the computer-programming contest.They had also bagged the "Microsoft Best Project Prize" from among 7,000 projects all over India.
