TNAU finds new way to avoid Question Paper Leak
The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has installed a foolproof `Intruder alarm system' to prevent question paper leak. According to a varsity release, this is the first of its kind in any State Agricultural University. This system would help maintain confidentiality in the setting of question papers, evaluation of answer papers and declaration of results. Paper leakage, which was and would always be a threat to educational institutions, should be controlled at any cost, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, C.Ramasamy, said commissioning the system on Monday.
The Controller of Examinations, V. Valluvaparidasan, said that the electronic security system included an automatic vigilance camera, electronic locking system, smoke detector, vibration detector and an alarm. In the event of an intruder breaking into the office of the Controller of Examinations, the alarm would be triggered. In turn, the auto dialler connected with the control panel would automatically dial up the programmed phone numbers of the Controller of Examinations and the Security Office within two seconds.
This stand-alone security system with alarms, sensors and closed circuit television had been integrated with the office of Controller of Examinations so as to create a safe environment.
Besides, in case of any break-in, this security system would be able to recreate clearly the actual sequence of events. The system was easy to install and operate and was tamper proof.
The Controller said interested educational institutions could contact him for further clarifications and suggestions for installing this kind of security system in their premises.
