Elgi Equipments (EEL) has reported a net profit of Rs 23.37 crore in 2006-07 against Rs 17.63 crore in the previous year on the back of demand for its screw compressors from its existing and new customers. Net sales increased to Rs 378.58 crore . The company has projected a sales growth of around 20% this year reflecting the demand for modern screw compressors. Jairam Varadaraj, MD, EEL, said profits have grown at a lower pace.
