Recruitment rally for Indian Army
A recruitment rally for Indian Army, for male candidates will be conducted at the Government Stadium, Dindigul from May 29 to June 3.The recruitment is open for the Soldier (Tradesmen) category, for candidates born on or after June 5, 1984 and before November 28, 1989. Height should 166 cm, weight should be 48 kg and chest should be 76 cm with 5 cm expansion. Candidates should be under Matric with a pass in Standard V as minimum. The age ceiling remains the same for all the following categories.For Soldier General Duty (Non-Matric) category candidates should be SSLC pass with 166 cm in height, 50 kg weight and 77 cm chest measurement with five cm in expansion.
Soldier General Duty candidates should have SSLC with minimum 45 per cent marks in aggregate and in the event of HSLC pass then pass marks in SSLC would be suffice. Height, weight and chest measurements remain the same as in the above category.For Soldier Clerk HSLC pass from any stream with minimum of 50 per cent marks and 40 marks in each subject. Candidate should have studied English and Maths. Accounts/Bookeeping as compulsory subjects in Standard X or XII. If Graduation and above, then pass marks in HSLC would suffice. Height should be 162 cm while weight should be 50 kg and chest measurements 77 cm with 05 cm expansion.For Soldier Technical category, candidates should be HSLC pass in Science with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English. Height should be 165 cm. Candidates passed HSLC with vocational education subjects are not eligible for soldier technical and soldier clerk/store keeper technical categories. Candidates below 18 years are required to bring consent certificate from parents.
Sons of service/ex-servicemen will get concessions such as two kg in weight, two cm in height and 1 cm in chest measurement, sons of widow/war widow of servicemen will also get the same concession while National and State-level sportsmen having obtained first and second positions will get concessions such as 5 kg in weight, two cm in height and 3 cm in chest measurement.These candidates along with those from Dindigul, Coimbatore, Theni, Nilgiris and Dharmapuri districts would have to appear on May 29 and 30 for Soldier Tradesmen and Soldier General Duty categories.Candidates for Soldier General Duty from Dindigul, Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Salem and Erode districts on May 30 and 31, Candidates for Soldier Clerk and Store Keeper Technical category from Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Namakkal, Erode, Madurai and Nilgiris districts on May 31 and June 1.
Candidates for Soldier Technical category from Dindigul, Madurai, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri and Erode would have to appear on June 1 and 2.Sons of servicemen, ex-servicemen, widows, war-widows, NCC certificate holders and sportsmen of all the ten districts would have to appear on June 2 and 3. Candidates found fit on May 31 for Tradesmen category would have to take the aptitude test on June 3.There are exemptions and concessions for NCC "C" certificate holders.For further details, approach the nearest Army or Branch Recruiting Office.
