'Kidzee' will open soon
A franchise of ‘Kidzee’ from Zee Interactive Learning Systems Limited (ZILS), the education arm of Zee Network, will soon open in the city for toddlers and kindergarten children, Ashish Deb, Executive vice-president of ZILS, told a press conference here on Tuesday.“The play school that will have a play group, nursery, junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten, will cater to kids between one-and-a-half and five years. Its aim is to make children grow and learn in an amiable environment for their all round growth”, Mr. Deb said.
With 550 centres in 220 locations, ‘Kidzee’, started in 2003, has a strong alumni of 50,000 children. It made its presence felt in South India with franchisee outlets in Chennai, Puducherry, Salem, Tirupur and Kochi. It plans to set up eight centres in Coimbatore. “The curriculum is comprehensive, keeping in mind the interests and abilities of the child. It follows the concept of ‘learning by doing and playing’. It uses multi-sensory materials for physical exploration. Trained teachers along with attendants take care of the children. The adult to child ratio is 1:8. ”, said Mr. Deb.
