Royal Classic Group enters into Malaysian and Thailand markets
After gaining a strong foothold in the domestic market, it is time for Tirupur-based Royal Classic Group (RCG) to spread its wings abroad. RCG, an apparel maker with menswear brands like Classic Polo and Smash in its portfolio, started its brand distribution operations in Singapore a few months ago and is now eyeing the Malaysian and Thailand markets.
“We have done a market study in these countries and found that they are identical to Indian retail market. There is a good demand for both premium and economy brands. We are in the process of opening up our sales and marketing offices in these countries soon and strengthening our brands,” Mr R Sivaram, executive director, RCG, told.On the domestic front, it plans to open 63 retail outlets by December 2007, taking its outlets tally to 100. These outlets, to be run on a franchisee basis, will be in two formats — studio (500-1,000 sq ft) and lounge (1,000-2,000 sq ft) and will sell the Classic Polo brand of T-shirts, shirts, trousers, denim wear and jackets and Smash innerwear.
