Coimbatore: As many as 161 persons will be issued appointment orders on compassionate grounds as conservancy workers before July 25, Mayor, R. Venkatachalam said on Saturday.In a press release, Mr.Venkatachalam said that an eligibility list had been sought from the Employment Exchange for appointment of 60 multi-purpose health assistants, 10 drug dispensers, 17 junior engineers, seven assistant engineers and seven women health officers.On getting the list, steps would be taken to fill up the vacancies, he said.Mr.Venkatachalam also added that he and Deputy Mayor N. Karthik had decided to meet the Local Administration Minister, Commissioner for Municipal Administration and Secretary to Government for Municipal Administration and Drinking Water Supply in Chennai to request them to fill up the other vacancies in the Corporation.
