Recuirement drive at Coimbatore Corp
The Coimbatore Corporation has cautioned persons applying for jobs in the civic body on touts approaching them for money.Mayor R. Venkatachalam said in a press release that the Corporation was recruiting 161 sanitary workers on compassionate grounds.The civic body had verified on Wednesday and Thursday the documents of the candidates whose parents or spouses had died while in service in the Corporation.
When this process was on, the Corporation received complaints that some persons had approached the candidates and demanded money after promising to get the jobs for them.The Mayor said that the Corporation would appoint only those who fulfilled all the criteria.Hence, none of the candidates should entertain anyone who offered to get the jobs in exchange for money, Mr. Venkatachalam said in the release.Officials had also been asked to watch out for persons using the names of the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioner or other officials with the applicants.These people could be claiming proximity to the Corporation authorities while promising applicants that jobs could be got by bypassing rules and procedures, the Mayor said in the press release.
