Bosch sign agreement with CHIL
Robert Bosch India further intensifies its focus in Coimbatore by signing an Agreement with Coimbatore Hitech Infrastructure Private Limited (CHIL) for about 21.9 acres of land in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Saravanampatti. CHIL is part of the KG Group.Robert Bosch India plans to set up its own infrastructure on this land to realise the growing opportunities in the IT and ITES space. Construction will start in the last quarter of 2007 and the first phase is targeted to be inaugurated by early 2009. With this, Robert Bosch India has deepened its relationship with Coimbatore which was started in May 2006 when the companies’ second Development Center was inaugurated at Saravanampatti.
While the strength of Robert Bosch India at Coimbatore has grown to more than 480 associates, this new infrastructure will pave way to meet growing demand from 2009 onwards. The new infrastructure will provide employment opportunities to the people in the region and opportunity to work on the innovative technologies of Bosch in the areas of Software and Hardware Development, Mechanical Engineering and Business Services-Technologies based on which Bosch applied for more than 3000 patents in 2006.Bosch India is also the first approved SEZ unit for IT & ITES in Coimbatore and is committed in making the SEZ infrastructure a successful one in the industry.Coimbatore will also grow as an important development location in the Bosch World.
