The Coimbatore District Small Industries Association has appealed to the Union Railway Ministry to inaugurate Salem Railway Division on September 14 as announced and include Coimbatore in the division.A release said inclusion of Coimbatore Region in the proposed Salem Division would help in executing the doubling of the Coimbatore-Irugur Railway line at a faster pace, construction of railway over bridge at Ukkadam and broadening the Coimbatore-Dindigul railway line.
