Coimbatore corp will be 'hordings-free'
The six corporation limits in Tamil Nadu will become 'hoardings-free' on the lines of Delhi and Bangalore, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi announced today.A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting chaired by him, an official release here said.The meeting decided to remove illegal hoardings in all the six corporations - Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirapalli, Salem and Tirunelveli. The Government would move the court to vacate the stay got by certain people to continue displaying their hoardings, and then remove them, the release said.The meeting also decided to allow public sector companies and political parties to keep the hoardings, erected for functions, three days prior to the function. The hoardings should be removed two days after the function, failing which the government would remove them.
