Security has been tightened in the Nilgiris district in view of the pronouncement of judgement in the serial bomb blast case at Coimbatore.Vidya Kulkarni, SP of Nilgiris District said that 53 police pickets would be posted throughout the district. About 300 policemen along with homeguards would be pressed into service.All the check-posts in the district are strengthened by providing armed guards. Special security has been provided to important religious centres like temples and mosques. Check-ups in lodges and vehicles have been intensified. Round the clock patrolling has been arranged, she added.
