Coimbatore:Forty eight prisoners, who have served more than 10 years imprisonment in the central jail here, were released on Saturday, on the occasion of the 99th birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C N Annadurai.All of them were serving life sentence for murder and were considered for release for their "good behaviour and conduct during the sentence period," jail sources said.One T Selvam of Rasipuram and another Aiyyavu of Salem, have secured triple degrees, like MA, MBA and BBM, during their sentence period, they said.While some of them would be given assistance to start self-employment from Rotary Clubs, 10 persons would be given jobs as security at various places, the sources said.All the released persons left with their family members and relatives, after a small function at the jail premises.
