A bomb hoax created a flutter at the Government Polytechnic for Women on Bharathiyar Road on Monday afternoon.According to the police, a letter slipped into one of the attendance registers claimed that a bomb had been planted on the premises and would go off shortly. Following the information, the city police officials led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, C. Sambasivam (Security), along with the anti-sabotage teams of the bomb detection and disposal squad searched the premises and found the threat to be a hoax.
