Financial assistance for rural students
District Collector Neeraj Mittal has announced that Tribal students and those belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes who have completed Plus-Two can avail themselves of financial assistance for higher studies.Boys who have scored 1,019 marks and above, and girls who have scored 1,030 and above in the Plus-Two examinations are eligible for the assistance. They can approach the heads of the institutions.
They will have to furnish community certificates along with the mark sheets. Application forms are available in all colleges. In case of non availability of forms, they can approach the Collectorate.Students belonging to the Adidravidar and converted Adidravidar Christian community who have completed Plus-Two with Tamil as a subject and are continuing education are eligible for the assistance.Students in these communities who have discontinued education for one year are also eligible.They will be provided Rs. 1,500 per annum for the next five years to pursue their studies, a release here has said.
