Students should develop some method of self-assessment, Commissioner for Labour, A.Sukumaran, said here recently. While inspecting the special school run by the Kovai Child Labour Abolition Support Society (Kovai CLASS) at Arivoli Nagar in Madukkarai near Coimbatore, he said they should learn to assess their talents. According to a release, he checked the supply of books, examined the medical records of the students and also the supply of food materials to the school. Mr. Sukumaran exhorted the representatives of the local body to ensure that no child was sent for employment. If so, the child should be rehabilitated and put back in school. A new school could be started if there was such a need, he said.
