Certificate course in cotton poduction

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University(TNAU)and Central Institute for Cotton Research(CICR),Coimbat ore,have jointly launched a six-month certificate course in cotton poduction technologies through the Open and Distance Learning mode.Head and Project Coordinator, CICR, N Gopala Krishnan, while launching the certificate programme on Friday stressed that farmers in Tamil Nadu should concentrate on enhancing the productivity of cotton by adopting better water management practices and timely cultural operations.Professor and Head,department of Cotton,TNAU, N Sivasamy, pointed out that the certificate course would address quality input usage,timely cultural operations and high tech management strategies.He also added that the course would benefit cotton farmers, unemployed youth and women self help groups. Professor,Open and Distance Learning, TNAU,P Santhy, listed out the various certificate courses being offered through the distance mode of education.Scientist,CICR S Usha Rani,welcomed and senior scientist P Nalayini proposed a vote of thanks.
