Isha's cleaning campagin
Isha Foundation along with 120 NSS volunteers from Government Arts College carried out a cleaning campaign in the Boluvampatty Panchayat area recently. Iruttupallam, Gandhi Colony, Semmedu, Muttuvayal, Thanneerpandal and Thanikandi villages too were included in the drive.The roads were cleared of plastic bags and wild bushes. The drive was conducted as part of the foundation’s project ‘Greenhands,’ which aimed at planting at least 114 million saplings of 10 native species in 10 years in Tamil Nadu. As a first step, a massive tree-planting drive was organised in the State last year. This year’s project was inaugurated by Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
