A cancer awareness rally organised by Ashwin PPG Cancer Hospital in the city on Wednesday.Students from the PPG College took out a rally in the city on Wednesday to promote awareness on cancer. Ashwin PPG Cancer Hospital organised the rally in association with Sri Devi Textiles. A press release from the hospital said that the rally was organised to draw the attention of the public to the ill-effects of smoking, chewing tobacco and pan masala products.The rally started at the Tiruvalluvar Bus Stand at Gandhipuram, went through Avarampalayam, Dr. Balasundaram Road and ended at the Indian Red Cross Society on Huzur Road.The students carried placards that warned people of cancer from tobacco use and also informed of various types of the disease. They also distributed pamphlets contain messages the called for cancer prevention.
