High level meeting @ TNAU
A high-level meeting on the 'progressions of water technologies and seed production technologies' at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has felt the need to go for 'zero budget agriculture'.The zero budget agriculture moots optimum utilisation of naturally available resources inluding water, fodder and pesiticides.In the recently-held meeting, Tamil Nadu chief secretary, L K Tripathy, stressed the need to recharge groundwater potential by activating the groundwater sources and invited suggestions.The meeting felt the inevitable need of erecting small farm ponds for better storage and reclying of water through active recharging of 18 lakh wells spread over Tamil Nadu.
