ECDL programme launched
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carrera Holding Inc., Italy, Vivek Jacob, speaking at the inaugural function of European Computer Driving License organised by SSM Academy of International Certifications, Komarapalayam and Banyan Tree Knowledge Centre, Mumbai, in the city on Wednesday.The SSM Academy for International Certifications at Komarapalayam will implement the European Computer Driving License (ECDL) programme in India. The programme was launched here by Vivek Jacob, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carrera Holdings Inc of Italy at a function organised by the academy and Banyan Tree Knowledge Centre. This is a diploma programme to demonstrate an individual’s competence in computer skills.A release from the academy said that the ECDL programme was available in 140 countries for end-user computer skill certification. It was an international benchmark in terms of comprehensiveness, uniformity and neutrality in computer skills.This was available world-wide in 20,000 test centres and more than 20 million examinations had been completed at various levels of abilities in the IT field.The programme was supported by the European Union and would help the students, said M.S. Mathivanan, chairman of the SSM Group of Educational Institutions.
