‘Best Programme Officer’ Award for Coimbatore
Shubashini K. Sripathi, lecturer in Avinashilingam University for Women, has been awarded the Tamil Nadu State NSS award for ‘Best Programme Officer’ for 2005-06.According to a press release that was issued here by the university, Ms. Shubashini had been instrumental in creating awareness among the people of the adopted villages on health, nutrition, fire safety, environment enrichment, literacy and personality development. She has also been responsible for creating durable assets for the village by constructing compound walls for the elementary school and anganwadi.The award comprised a medal, certificate and a purse of Rs. 3,000.It was given to her by Sports and Youth Welfare Minister T.P.M. Mohideen Khan in Chennai, the release added.
