BSNL telephone bill @ Avinashi Road

If BSNL customers in Tiruppur have not received their bills of January yet, they may find them on the side of the Avinashi Road in Coimbatore or somewhere else, just like the 50 bills found in a similar fashion.Around 50 bills of the BSNL customers in Tiruppur, for which the bill date is February 5 and date of payment is February 26, were found on the roadside opposite the Police Recruit School (PRS) grounds on the Avinashi Road recently. When this correspondent contacted a few customers from the number printed on the bill, they complained of non-receipt of the bill. But they all have made the payment by enquiring with the nearby BSNL office.

Nobody at BSNL took interest in customer complaints

“This is not the first time that we are not receiving the bill. It has been happening for sometime,” said Janaki, a customer, over phone. She also said that nobody at BSNL took interest in their complaints.Another customer P Varadharajan said, “I did not receive the bill for the month. But since the last date has approached, I myself went to the telephone office to find out the bill amount and paid it.”
However, the BSNL sources when contacted said the printing of the bill was handed over to a contractor and the bills would have been despatched to the head post office for sending them to customers.“We are not sure how this happened,” said a BSNL official, adding that they would receive the acknowledgement from the post office for the despatch and cross check it to find out where the problem occurred. However, when contacted, T Srinivasan, DGM (Finance), BSNL, said that he did not know how it happened. “However, if the customers file a complaint with us, we will forward it to the post office and do the needful,”he added.
