Coimbatore AU received project
The Centre for Intellectual Property Rights of the Anna University, Coimbatore, has received a project titled “Development of Software for Trademark Verbal Similarities Search Engine and Indian Trademark Database”, from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.According to a university release, the project estimated to cost around Rs. 96.65 lakh will extend to two years. It will develop a software package to find out verbal similarity between the Trademarks based on phonological analogies, speech recognition, pronunciation, spelling and conceptual closeness.It will develop and deploy a new high-speed phonetic and speech recognition search engine. It will also involve developing a web-enabled search engine using Nice classification and one that can be integrated with many databases commercially available worldwide.Vice-Chancellor R. Radhakrishnan will be the Project Investigator and Director of Centre for Intellectual Property Rights S. Balasubramanian will be the co-investigator.
