Srivastava, Air Officer Commanding, 5 Base Repair Depot (BRD), Air Force, at Sulur on Thursday.
Major repairs, overhaul and complex calibration of testers are carried out
According to an official release, 5 BRD AF is an ISO 9001:2000 certified depot and the designated mother depot for aircraft testers in the IAF. Major repairs, overhaul and complex calibration of testers are carried out at the static laboratory at the depot.The role of aircraft testers is very vital in that they tested all the systems of the aircraft for their serviceability and ensuring high reliability. To ensure maximum availability of aircraft for high operational preparedness, all the systems of the aircraft have to be fully serviceable in all weather conditions.
The conference addressed the latest trends in test and measurement equipment. Interactive sessions on modern trends in calibration, presentation on virtual instrumentation and its application in the field of calibration, etc., were discussed.An exhibition of the state-of-the-art test equipment was inaugurated by Air Commodore D.K. Pandey, Deputy Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, Headquarters, Maintenance Command, IAF. Vendors from all over the country had displayed their wares.Nearly 150 delegates from various operating fleers of the IAF and Navy along with specialists in the areas of test and measurement participated.
