Good responce for Australian Education Fair
The Australian Education Fair organised by Mentor Consultancy saw a large number of aspirants being counselled and given spot admissions.The fair had teaching representatives from six universities counsel students on education abroad, courses offered and eligibility factors, through exclusive interviews.Vivek Anandan P. Chief Executive Officer, Mentor Consultancy, said: “The response has been very good. More than 150 students attended the fair. Only 10 per cent of them wanted to opt for undergraduate courses. The rest have shown interest in post-graduate courses.”
Students were given options to choose courses at the University of Adelaide, Flinders University, Swinburne University, RMIT University, La Trobe University and University of South Australia.The most favoured were the business and management, IT and engineering, bio-tech and health sciences courses. Students were made to fill applications.A single form had an option of three courses from which they could choose. The selection would be done on the basis of their UG marks and also the general interview the university representatives conducted. “The interview is just to assess the interest the candidate has in pursuing studies abroad and also in the subject of his or her choice.They will be sent their offer letters in a day or two.At least 70 per cent of the candidates will be admitted.

Scholarship counselling was also provided,” said Mr. Vivek. Representatives from the Government of Victoria were also available to give information on education and immigration. Annie Santhana, Manager of Education, Victorian University Council, Australia, and her team were present. She said: “There is a shortage of skills in Victoria. We have come here to showcase the opportunities that are available there for studying and working.”
