SSL's European bought Swedish company
Orlandofin BV, the European subsidiary of Sakthi Sugars (SSL), has bought Swedish auto parts maker Arvika Gjuteri AB. The company, in a note to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), said Arvika has the capacity to make 28,000 tonne of castings for buses, trucks and off-road vehicles. When contacted, an SSL spokesperson refused to disclose the deal value. Sakthi Sugars has an auto parts unit called Sakthi Auto Components (SACL), which acquired Intermet Europe last April. SACL, a Rs 170-crore company, operates two plants in India for making ductile and grey iron castings with a capacity of 60,000 tonne.
