K. Palanisami, Director, Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies , Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has been invited to join a team of experts to prepare the “Water Master Plant” for the Abu Dhabi Government of the United Arab Emirates.According to a university release, the assignment will cover the preparation of a master plan taking into account the existing water resources, future demand for water and investments needed in desalination, waste water treatment and groundwater development. The team will also delve into the optimum use of these resources taking into consideration the environmental and societal needs. The team will prepare the plan in nine months.
