Coimbatore-based mining firm Indsil Electrosmelts (IEL) has entered into a joint venture agreement with Nagpurbased GoodEarth to jointly operate a manganese ore mine in Indonesia. IEL informed the stock exchanges that the mine is spread across 5,000 hectare and has around three million tonne of medium and high grade variety. “We have taken this mine on a 20-year lease from the government of Indonesia. Estimated production from this mine is around 300,000 tonne per annum,” Vinod Narasimhan, the CEO of IEL, told.
