Education Fair At Coimbatore

Mayor R. Venkatachalam taking a look at the stalls at the education fair, after inaugurating it, at Smt. Padmavathi Ammal Cultural Centre, in Coimbatore on Friday. In the series of education exhibitions in the city, there is yet another that opened on Friday at the Smt. Padmavathi Ammal Cultural Centre. With more than 70 stalls, the exhibition gives the aspirants a look into higher education arenas available to them.
Overseas educational consultants are there to counsel students

Some 20 engineering and arts and science colleges, computer training institutes and vocational educational institutes, have displayed their best courses for students to choose from. Business schools, tuition centres, air hostess training institutes and animation training centres too have put up stalls. In addition, there is a section dedicated to overseas education. Overseas educational consultants are there to counsel students aspiring to study in countries such as the U.K., the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.


There is also an area where human resource consultants and representatives from the business process outsourcing consultancy agencies are waiting to receive resumes from candidates – graduates as well as those in the final year of college – for screening at a later stage to select them for placements in various organisations.

R. Sarangarathinam, Senior Manager, Marketing, Innovative Business Fairs, said: “The expo offers opportunities for academics as well as for careers. There has been a mixed response. The visitors show equal interest in all the sectors. There are also seminars to educate and create awareness among the students.” The fair is on till April 6. It is open from 10.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
