The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam activists staging a demonstration in Coimbatore on Tuesday. The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) activists on Tuesday staged a demonstration protesting against the hike in petroleum price at Gandhipuram in the city. The demonstrators led by Marumalarchi Labour Front leader S. Duraisamy was accompanied by Pollachi MP, C. Krishnan, party’s district secretaries, R.T. Mariappan, R. Mohan Kumar and a host of other functionaries. The demonstrators carrying LPG cylinders and fuel cans raised slogans urging the Centre to control the price of petroleum products since it would have a cascading effect on the price of essentials.
