New DGP Taken Charge
K. Thondiraj assumed office on Sunday as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic), Coimbatore City. Mr. Thondiraj was Superintendent of Police, Security, at the Secretariat prior to the new assignment here. He joined the force in 1973 as Sub-Inspector and served as Deputy Superintendent of Police at Alankulam in 1998. He was Additional Superintendent of Police at Tuticorin in 2006 and had also served in the Crime Branch CID.
After assuming charge at the city police office, Mr. Thondiraj said he would welcome suggestions from the public for crime prevention in the city. Crime prevention could be done only with the assistance of the public. They could pass on information on his mobile phone (94430-80461).
