Adi-dravidar, tribal and converted Adi-dravidar students in Plus-One, Plus-Two, graduation, and post graduation can get the incentive. Those belonging to these communities undergoing vocational education, certificate courses, nursing, engineering, law, technical and medical education can also apply. Adi-dravidar students whose parents’ income is not more than Rs.1 lakh per annum are eligible. In the case of Scheduled Tribes students, the parents’ annual income should not exceed Rs.1.08 lakh. For Adi-dravidar converted students, parents’ annual income should not exceed Rs.50,000.
Students pursuing graduation or post-graduation and staying in hostels, and tribal students and Adi-dravidar students converted to Christianity are eligible for a special higher education incentive. The annual income of the parents should not be more than Rs.50,000. Parents from these communities involved in conservancy work or jobs in hazardous industries can get pre-matric education assistance in Corporation, Municipality and Town Panchayat areas for their children who may be studying in Standards I to X.
The incentive would be extended to girls in Standard VI from Adi-dravidar and tribal communities too. Educational institutions can collect the forms from the District Adi-dravidar Welfare officer at the Collectorate. The application forms from Adi-dravidar, Scheduled Tribes and converted Christian students should be submitted along with the community certificate and income certificate.
