Di Ammonium Phosphate Fertilizer Should Sold Before July 10th

The District Collector, V. Palanikumar, has announced that all private fertilizer dealers should complete the sale of the Di Ammonium Phosphate Fertilizer stocks before July 10. They will not be permitted to sell it after July 11. In a release Mr. Palanikumar said that according to a Government announcement the sale of DAP would be only through cooperative societies. Stocks of private fertilizer dealers would be confiscated and handed over to the TANFED after July 11.

Even while disposing the present stock of DAP, private fertilizer dealers should ensure that they were given to retailers for sale to farmers alone. There should not be any attempt to resort to hoarding or black marketing of the same. Special monitoring committees have been constituted to monitor DAP stocks with private dealers after July 10.

The committees would conduct surprise checks at the places of the wholesale dealers and retailers. In the event of the teams coming across instances of adulteration in DAP, hoarding and black marketing steps would be taken to initiate action on their licence under the provisions of Drug and Fertilizer Control Rules of 1985. The offenders would attract punishments including imprisonment, the Collector said. For complaints, if any, in this regard contact the Joint Director of Agriculture at 0422-2432739.
