DMK Cadres Observed Fast
DMK cadres led by Minister for Rural Industries Pongalur N Palanisamy (third left) observing a fast in the city on Saturday.Thousands of DMK cadres observed a protest fast at Gandhipuram on Saturday protesting against the Sri Lankan Navy for gunning down fishermen from Tamil Nadu.Following the recent incidents of Sri Lankan Navy killing Tamil Nadu fishermen that had been taking place along the Indian maritime boundary, the DMK high command had called for a protest fast in various places across the State today.In Coimbatore, led by the District DMK Secretary, Pongalur N. Palanisamy, the cadres observed a fast and the placards and posters condemned the Sri Lankan Navy for the brutal killing of fishermen.A number of former and sitting members of parliament (MPs) and members of legislative assembly (MLAs), as well as elected representatives of the local bodies took part in the protest fast.
