TNAU Signs MoU With Shiva Bio-Tech

Ramasamy at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in the city. The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has roped in private firms to reach the latest farm technologies to the farmers. The university has entered into separate memoranda of understanding with three companies, by which they will be granted licenses for production and marketing of its products and technologies. In response to the call of the Vice-Chancellor C. Ramasamy to entrepreneurs to take up commercialisation of the university’s technologies, three firms have come forward to promote three different products/technologies.
The MoUs were signed with the firms on behalf of the university by P. Subbian, Director, Agribusiness Development, TNAU, recently.Shiva Bio-Tech from Pudukottai has been granted the license for production of TNAU’s panchagavya. KSNM Marketing, Coimbatore, will commercialise a device to remove insect eggs from pulse seeds. Dhaniyalakshmi Agro Foods, Coimbatore, will promote both the technology and machine involved in the preparation of “Ready to cook mix and food from pearl miller.”
“The Directorate of Agribusiness Development of the university has partnered with these firms to ensure that the technologies and products reach the farmers on time and in the required quantities,” the Vice-Chancellor said. Mr. Subbian said the firms were permitted to use the TNAU nomenclature of the technology/product on the containers/sachets. “The firms are responsible for maintaining the quality of the product. The university has full right to check the quality of products/technologies commercialised by the firms.”
