Labour Department conducted raids at Pollachi, Coimbatore City, Udumalpet and Valparai and found that some LPG cylinders weighed less than the weight assured in the sale bill. Action has initiated against eight persons in this regard.In a release, Deputy Commissioner of Labour, P. Marimuthu said that under directions from Joint Commissioner, A. Thangavelu teams led by Inspector of Labour, N. Mahendravarman conducted the raids. Cases were registered against the personnel under Weights and Measurements Enforcement Act. In the event of LPG cylinders weighing lesser than the committed weight, the public could inform the same to Labour Department at 0422-2241136.
